Job Summary:
We are seeking to employ a Medical Director to supervise and oversee treatment providers assigned to the Opioid Treatment Program ("OTP") and Chemical Dependency Outpatient Program (a.k.a. "BridgeBack") operated by HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley ("HAHV") in Kingston, New York, which is part of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network ("WMCHealth"). This is a leadership role that supports a culture of recovery-orientated services using a harm reduction approach, including Medication Assisted Treatment ("MAT"), as well as the practice of motivational interviewing techniques. Reporting to the Section Chief for WMCHealth's Addictions Treatment division, the Medical Director will collaborate with Psychiatrists, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Program Manager, Nurse Manager, Program Director and the Director of Network Addiction Services to ensure the 822 programs are providing high quality care, following DEA, Joint Commission and OASAS regulations, and are meeting productivity expectations. The Medical Director provides consultation and supervision to on-site medical staff, including completion of staff performance evaluations, and participates in quality assurance, workforce recruiting and development, policy formulation, and utilization review activities. In addition to administrative and clinical supervision responsibilities, the Medical Director will also be responsible for the examination, diagnosis and the treatment of patients, including prescribing MAT and methadone, within the scope of the OTP and BridgeBack programs.This is an employed position through WMC Advanced Physician Services, which is a subsidiary professional corporation of WMCHealth. Qualifications / Requirements:
Applicants must be a board certified physician licensed to practice in the State of New York, with demonstrated clinical and organizational leadership accomplishments in the treatment of alcohol and opioid addiction through a harm reduction, evidence-based care model prioritizing Medication Assisted Treatment. Candidates must also possess an NPI number and active DEA license, and have some experience coordinating care for co-morbid medical, mental health and substance use disorders.
