Mercy Care has an exciting full-time employment opportunity for a Board Certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatry physician to join an exceptional team providing care for the underserved population in Atlanta, Georgia.
Under limited supervision by the Clinical Director of Psychiatry, the Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist provides diagnosis, psychiatric treatment and consultation within an integrated care setting. This psychiatrist will also provide general psychiatric care in the programs at Mercy Care and may also participate in the Street Medicine program. The psychiatrist provides administrative oversight as needed, supporting psychiatric APRNs through collaborative agreements, participating in health fairs or community events on weekends as requested 3-4 times a year. Office hours are 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, but our clinics can open up as early as 7:00 am and the hours could vary. Candidate must be flexible to float to our various clinics, if needed (located in Atlanta or Chamblee, Georgia).
Clinical expertise and competence in providing direct services and medical consultation is required. Must be able to build strong, cohesive outcomes focused on working relationships with special needs populations and Integrated Behavioral Health team colleagues. Familiarity and experience in treating medically underserved populations is preferred. Must have experience working with youth and families with both mental illness and substance use disorders within a multi-disciplinary setting. Candidate should have experience dealing with patients of diverse backgrounds.
Candidate must have completed an ACGME accredited Psychiatry residency program and Child and Adolescent fellowship program, with at least one year of experience in serving vulnerable populations. ABMS board certification in Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is required. Licensure to practice medicine within the state of Georgia is required. Bilingual candidates in Spanish & English appreciated.
