The John J. Pershing VA Medical Center, Poplar Bluff, MO is currently accepting applications for current and future Licensed Practical Nurse vacancies. Multiple locations are available. John J. Pershing VA Medical Center is a Level-3 complexity medical center with six (6) Community Based Outpatient Clinics. This vacancy announcement will be used to create an applicant pool. Qualified applicants will be referred as vacancies occur. More than one vacancy may exist at a location. PACT LPN: The incumbent serves as a License Practical Nurse (LPN) providing direct patient care. The incumbent duties and responsibilities include: work patients up for clinic provider, complete medication refills/renewals, complete forms (disability, handicap placards, etc.), injections, assist with scanning and secure messages. The incumbent will demonstrate the knowledge and ability to provide a full range of nursing care to patients with a variety of physical and/or behavioral health problems under limited supervision. The incumbent will serve as a responsible member of the nursing team and interact with patients, family members and professional supportive personnel who provide patient care with members of other services. CLC LPN: The incumbent serves as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) performing basic age-specific nursing care for adult and geriatric inpatients outpatients with physical, mental or psychosocial needs, according to assignment and training. These positions are located on the Community Living Center and will provide care to the Veterans assigned to this unit. Acute Care LPN: The incumbent is responsible for observing, recording and reporting changes in the patient's condition, as well as assisting in the development and revision of the patient-driven holistic care plan for life. The LPN is a member of the larger team and collaborates with disciplines across the spectrum. The LPN requires a general review of their work by an RN for appropriateness and conformity with license, policies and procedures. The LPN provides effective education to patients and/or family members in relation to common disease process, medication and/or prescribed treatment regimes. Specialty LPN: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) performs basic age-specific nursing care for adult and geriatric inpatients or outpatients with physical, mental, behavioral or psychosocial needs, according to assignment and training. These positions are located within Specialty Clinic. The LPN may be assigned to the following areas: Minor Invasive Procedures, Urology, Endoscopy (including recovery), Gastroenterology, Orthopedic, Hepatology, Chiropractor, Alternative Therapy and other areas within Specialty. Preferred Experience: Three (3) years LPN experience with Inpatient Medical/Surgical unit experience, Outpatient Ambulatory invasive procedures or Outpatient Specialty Clinic experience. PLEASE NOTE: These positions require Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. If selected, Applicant will provide proof of current certification prior to employment. Only BLS certification which included Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification obtained from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or the Military Treatment Training Network (MTN) will be accepted.
