The successful candidate will have specialized skills in behavioral medicine, and experience treating chronic pain in an interdisciplinary team setting. This team of pain care professionals includes those from Behavioral Health, Physical Therapy, Pharmacy and Nursing who share the care of these patients with providers from PM&R, Primary Care, Anesthesia, complementary and alternative medicine and more. Together, the new team will design systems to support complex case review, peer coaching, and consultation both in person and virtually with our members. The psychologist may also be asked to contribute brief psychological testing and evidence-based psychotherapy. In person consultation will require occasional travel within the state of Washington. The team will support the care delivery system in designing training, monitoring and overall stewardship of controlled substance use for pain.

Candidates must show a willingness to provide local leadership in the development of evidence based mental health practices among masters level providers.
Federal Way Medical Center is comprised of Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Endocrinology, Eye Care, Occupational Medicine, Physical Therapy, and Social Work Services. Lab, Pharmacy, and Radiology on site. Office hours are 8am â“ 5pm Monday through Friday.

PhD in Psychology or PsyD. Well trained in CBT for pain. Unrestricted license to practice psychology in the State of Washington. Preferred: skills in MBSR and ACT, strong background in evidence-based practice, teaching/coaching experience, facility with designing systems of care, three years' experience in providing consultation for complex chronic pain. All applicants must possess a full range of clinical skills and an interest in working with an innovative group practice.
